Home Remodeling That Respects Your House and Your Time
A home remodeling project changes how a space is built and how it lives, whether that means opening up a cramped kitchen, reworking a dated bathroom, or turning an unfinished basement into a room the family uses every day.
We are EG Contracting Services, owner Erick Gonzalez and an in-house team that built its name on careful painting and brought that same standard to remodeling. We plan the work with you, keep the site clean, and stay in touch while the project moves. We do this for homeowners across Fairfax County and the rest of Northern Virginia.
If your current layout is fighting you, the fix is usually closer than a new address.

What Our Clients Say
A
Angela K
Eric and his team were great helping me get into my first place. Eric advised me with what would work well in my place. He is amazing, he treats your home like his own. And his prices are reasonable too. I highly recommend him to everyone I talk to.

EG was incredibly professional, responsive, and the job was high quality. I highly recommend them.
What Home Remodeling Includes
- Layout and design planning: we map the new footprint, walk it with you, and sort out what stays and what changes before any tool comes out.
- Framing and drywall: walls that move, close up, or open up, finished cleanly. Our drywall installation crew handles the patch-to-paint hand-off so seams disappear.
- Cabinetry and surfaces: new cabinets, or existing ones refreshed with our cabinet painting work, plus countertops and hardware.
- Flooring and trim: new floors, baseboards, and casing that tie the updated rooms back to the rest of the house.
- Paint and finishes: the interior painting that pulls the whole space together, in Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore finishes.
- Fixtures and final details: lighting, fittings, and the small pieces that decide whether a room feels finished.
Signs It's Time for a Home Remodel
- Your kitchen or bath works against you every morning, and no amount of tidying fixes the layout.
- You have a wall you keep wishing was not there, or a room you would use daily if it were finished.
- Storage is short and there is nowhere left to add it without moving something structural.
- The house fits a stage of life you have moved past, and you would rather rework it than move.
- Repairs keep stacking up in one area, and patching costs are starting to rival doing it right once.
- You love the location and the bones, and you want the inside to catch up to how you live now.
Why a Remodel Is Worth Doing
A good remodel gives you back space you already pay for. The square footage was always there; the point is making it usable, comfortable, and yours.
There is a resale side too. Reworked kitchens, updated bathrooms, and finished lower levels tend to hold their value well with local buyers, so the money you put in is rarely money you simply spend.
Mostly, though, a remodel changes the daily experience of being home. Mornings run smoother, hosting feels easier, and the room you avoided becomes one you reach for.
Your Options at a Glance
| Option | Best For | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen remodel | Cramped or dated layouts | Cabinets, counters, flooring, lighting, and often a wall change |
| Bathroom remodel | Aging fixtures, poor use of space | Tub-to-shower changes, vanities, tile, and ventilation |
| Basement finishing | Unused lower levels | Framing, drywall, flooring, and a real living space |
| Whole-home remodel | Multiple rooms at once | Coordinated design so finishes and flow stay consistent |
| Room conversion or addition | Growing or shifting needs | Turning a bonus room into an office, suite, or bedroom |
How a Remodel Fits a Bigger Project
Remodeling rarely stays in one lane. A kitchen refresh turns into new flooring in the hall, or a bath update pulls in fresh paint through the bedrooms.
Because we run painting, drywall, and remodeling under one roof, those pieces do not need a second contractor or a second schedule. You can see the full range on our remodeling, roofing, siding, and decking page and fold the extras into one plan.

EG Contracting Services serves homeowners across Northern Virginia, covering Fairfax County and the surrounding communities. The region is a real mix of older homes with decades of character and newer builds across more recent developments, with neighborhoods that take genuine pride in how they look. The W&OD Trail runs through much of the area, connecting towns from Arlington out toward Purcellville, and Great Falls Park draws visitors from across the wider DC region. The climate here is hard on both interior and exterior surfaces, with humid summers and wet winters that put steady wear on walls and ceilings year after year. We know the homes, the weather, and the standard the neighborhoods expect, and we work accordingly on every project we take on across the region.
